New Pharmacy services offers increase in patient care Published Dec. 11, 2008 By 23rd Medical Group Pharmacy 23rd Wing MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The 23rd Medical Group Pharmacy is continuously looking for ways to improve customer service for Moody's community. One way includes increasing the number of service windows at the main pharmacy. By adding a fourth window it will provide an opportunity to increase the number of patients served during operating hours. It will also allow patients more flexibility for prescription drop-off, resulting in a decrease in overall wait time. Additionally, the Q-Matic Customer Flow Management system was introduced in July. In an effort to help patients during the transition to the new system, Pharmacy personnel will be positioned at the desk located in the lobby to help patients who need assistance. On average the Pharmacy fills more than 13,000 prescriptions each month, with more than 5,000 of them being refills. In order to handle the level of refills received and to efficiently manage personnel resources, there will be a change to the cut-off time when calling in prescription refills. Beginning Dec. 15, refills must be phoned in by 10 a.m. on duty days in order to be ready for next day pick-up. This change will allow for more on-duty days in order to be ready for next day pick-up. This change will allow for more on-duty pharmacy staff to be available throughout the day, ensuring prescriptions are ready when promised. As a reminder, individuals who have a prescription from a medical group provider will need to come to the Pharmacy in order to activate their prescription. The following steps for activating a new prescription include: - Pull the appropriate ticket from the kiosk, identified as "Activate Med Group Prescription(s)" and wait for your number to be called. - When your number is called, go to the designated Pharmacy window. The staff will access your medication profile and begin to prepare the order. Your number will be called again once the order is ready. - Return to the designated Pharmacy window when your number is called again to pick up your prescription.
