Moody's privatized housing leasing office is now accepting applications for the housing waiting list.

Any military member assigned to Moody with family members is entitled to live in privatized housing.

The Landings at Moody have two, three and four-bedroom units that military families may qualify for, depending on family size.

Rent is based on what the member receives for their basic allowance for housing and will never be more than the member's BAH. Also, there is no application fee, no security deposit and no pet deposit. Moving expenses will be paid for first-time moves to Moody.

Privatized housing is especially beneficial for military-to-military members. Military-to-military couples pay the rental rate equal to the with-dependent rate BAH of the senior-ranking member. The member drawing single-rate BAH pockets the allowance.

Some of the benefits of living in privatized housing include: a gated community, a short drive to the work place, living within walking distance of base facilities (child care, youth activities, swimming pool, Base Theater, Base Exchange, Commissary, medical assistance, etc), a curb-side refuge and recycling pick-up, a utility allowance, monthly pest control, personal property insurance for up to $20,000, and 24 hours a day/7 days a week maintenance.

Rental rates are highly competitive with community housing throughout Lowndes County and the surrounding areas, which are benefits military families cannot find in the open market.
