The property management team for the Landings at Moody will continue to upgrade the 94 court units located in the Quiet Pines housing area.

These units consist of two, three and four bedroom single-story duplexes and two-story townhouses. The units are assigned mainly to junior enlisted (those who hold the rank of E-1 through E-6) members and their families.

After the sale of Moody's privatized housing project to Hunt-Pinnacle Communities, the new owner's program included enhancements to the court units to ensure the best quality of life for current and future residents.

"These units were constructed by the government in 1965 and there were major renovations completed in 1985," said Diana Burns, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron housing management specialist. "Now they are in need of a facelift."

Under the original privatized owner, the units were to be demolished to make way for new senior officer and senior NCO housing units. The Air Force and HPC have agreed to maintain these units for a minimum of five years in order to gain revenue before replacing them with new housing.

The scheduled enhancements include a new kitchen appliance package, new kitchen lighting fixtures, new paint on all walls and ceilings and installation of an up-to-date French door configuration to replace the old sliding patio doors.

"The new French doors are a big hit with the families," said Naomi Hendricks, The Landings at Moody community director. "All the enhancements will provide a quality look to the units."

Col. Kenneth Todorov, 23rd Wing commander, was impressed with the appearance of the units after he viewed a completed townhouse.

"The before and after reviews have been excellent and provide a better living environment for our military families," said Louis Screws, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron housing asset manager.

The 23rd CES Housing Office is currently accepting referral applications for privatized housing from active duty members with dependents assigned to Moody.
