The Senior Noncommissioned Officer course is a four-day course and is mandatory for all newly-selected master sergeants. It is designed to augment information taught in Basic Military Training, technical training, ancillary training and professional military education, as well as job experience.

The attendees of this PME course recently got to listen to the story of Staff Sgt. Alex Eudy, a special operations weatherman assigned to the 10th Combat Weather Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

With one of the course's objectives being "Air and Space Expeditionary Force," Sergeant Eudy was a great candidate for being a spokesperson because of his expeditionary experience and enthusiasm in sharing his story.

Other objectives within the curriculum include standards and discipline, education initiatives, ethics, senior leader and first sergeant panels, team-building and motivation, and counseling and mentoring.

"When I originally heard his story, I knew he would be an excellent guest speaker because of what he has gone through while contributing to our expeditionary capabilities," said Master Sgt. Harriet Mallory, SNCOE instructor. "There's nothing like hearing an experience like this first-hand and with Sergeant Eudy's goal of returning to duty to the fullest extent possible as a combat-ready Airman, he's a great example of a leader. Our NCOs are expected to perfect their individual leadership and technical skills while serving as examples for subordinates. This enhancement seminar is a key step in achieving that."

The course culminates with a formal ceremony in which all new master sergeants and master sergeant-selects are officially inducted into the Senior NCO tier.
