23rd MXG welcomes new commander

The 23rd Maintenance Group recently received a new leader during an assumption of command ceremony here Dec. 7.

Col. Neal Robinson assumed command of the group that provides maintenance and repair of the A-10C Thunderbolt II, HC-130P Combat King and HH-60G Pave Hawk at Moody.

"I'm honored to welcome Colonel Robinson and his family to both Moody and the 23rd MXG," said Colonel Henderson, 23rd Wing commander. "We've been provided a top-notch leader for a top-notch group, and I'm certain he will help the Flying Tigers go further and higher as he takes control of Air Combat Command's largest maintenance group."

Colonel Robinson's most recent position was Command and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance Division chief, at Headquarters ACC at Langley Air Force Base, Va. He has also served as a deputy maintenance group commander and held staff assignments at Headquarters ACC and Headquarters U.S. Air Force.

After officially assuming command, Colonel Robinson expressed his gratitude in becoming part of the historical Flying Tigers.

"I'm extremely proud to become a part of this team and I'm looking forward to working with and getting to know all of you," said Colonel Robinson. "I also look forward to writing a new chapter in the history that began with the original ground crews of the illustrious Flying Tigers."

The new commander also recognized how hard maintainers work to accomplish the mission.

"We're a professional organization and need to look to the future with excitement as we set higher standards for ourselves," he said. "With some innovative thinking and strong leadership, we'll be able to meet expectations while becoming more agile and more capable than ever before."

Colonel Robinson will soon be joined by his wife, Rhonda, and their three children.
