To many individuals, spring may represent the perfect time to clean their house and throw out any items they no longer use. For Moody, it's no different.

Moody's self-help store, located in building 980, will be providing supplies to help units tidy up their facilities from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. as part of the annual 'Tiger den' clean-up effort.

"Along with environmental and safety reasons, we should clean up because by showing we care about small things such as tidiness, we show we care about our service as a whole," said Senior Master Sgt. Eddie Taylor, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron operations flight superintendent. "Too much clutter can leave units not knowing what supplies they have and don't have, so the event helps to keep track of inventory."

During these hours, facility managers are expected to inspect exterior areas such as the landscaping, parking lots and smoking areas for safety and neatness.

In addition, the Hazardous Material office, located in building 934, will have an amnesty box so units can turn in items including partially-full paint cans and spray paint cans. These items should be accompanied by material data safety sheets to speed up the process. The HAZMAT office can be reached at (229) 257-1397/4654.

For facilities that need some work done on the exterior, the self-help store will have supplies available to help and the store can be reached at (229) 257-3066.

The supplies, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, include mowers, weed eaters, edgers, leaf blowers, pressure washers, rakes, brooms and an abundance of pine straw.

"We provide these materials because it's always important to take pride in our work areas," said Tech. Sgt. Charles Bell, 23rd CES self-help store vehicle control officer. "In addition to making a good first impression on distinguished visitors, it's also important to make sure the community sees us taking care of our resources and leading by example."
