Military Justice Spotlight: Article 15s for August Published Sept. 2, 2010 By 23rd Wing Legal Office MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, GA. -- The following information is a summary of nonjudicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in August. The punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case. A staff sergeant from the 23rd Medical Support Squadron was misusing their government travel card. The staff sergeant received a suspended reduction in rank to senior airman and a reprimand. A senior airman from the 23rd Aerospace Medicine Squadron failed to go to the fast track as ordered and showed up to the fast track drunk. The senior airman received a reduction in rank to airman first class and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was caught drinking alcohol underage and made a false official statement denying the underage drinking. The airman first class received a reduction in rank to airman, 45 days extra duty and a reprimand. An airman from the 23rd Component Maintenance Squadron was caught drinking alcohol underage. The airman received a suspended reduction in rank to airman basic and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 23rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron wrongfully used marijuana. The airman first class received a reduction in rank to airman, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 23rd Operations Support Squadron failed to go to Greenleaf Center, Valdosta, Ga., on two occasions. The airman was also absent without leave for one day. The airman first class received a reduction in rank to airman, a suspended reduction in rank to airman basic and a reprimand. A master sergeant from the 23rd Operations Support Squadron violated a no-contact order with an airman from his unit by marrying her. The master sergeant received a suspended reduction in rank to technical sergeant, forfeiture of $970 for two months and a reprimand. An airman basic from the 23rd Operations Support Squadron violated a no-contact order with a master sergeant from her unit by marrying him. The airman basic received forfeitures of $723 for two months and a reprimand. A senior airman from the 723rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron brought a handgun on base and concealed it in the glove compartment of his vehicle. The senior airman also disrespected a noncommissioned officer by walking away from him during a counseling session. The senior airman received a reduction in rank to airman first class, a suspended reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand. Two airmen first class form the 822nd Security Forces Squadron were caught drinking alcohol underage. The two airmen first class received suspended reduction in rank to airman, suspended forfeitures of $125 for two months and a reprimand. An airman from the 824th Security Forces Squadron misused his government travel card. The airman received a reduction in rank to airman basic and a reprimand. An airman first class from the 824th Security Forces Squadron assaulted his wife during a heated argument. The airman first class received a suspended reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand.
