This year, Moody will recognize Fire Prevention Week from Oct. 3 to 9 in memorial of the sacrifices of our firefighter heroes and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which killed more than 250 people and destroyed more than 17,400 buildings.

To help emphasize safety practices, the theme for this year is "Smoke alarms: A sound you can live with." Smoke and poisonous gases are the leading causes of death associated with fire and can kill long before the flames do.

As a call to action for Moody individuals to participate in fire prevention activities at home, work and school to help ensure fire safety and the safety of their families, a schedule of events for this week has been planned. Asterisks denote events where families can come out and participate.
