On Sept. 21, Col. Gary Henderson, 23rd Wing commander, signed a proclamation designating October as Community Planning Month at Moody. This year's theme is "sustaining places."

Communities are encouraged to help elevate the role planning plays by hosting events during the planning month.

A number of activities are planned to celebrate this month. Moody planners will participate in the annual Georgia Planning Association, where a session on "keys to base sustainability" will be briefed by 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron personnel. A mobile workshop will be held at Moody for conference participants.

Planners from five counties surrounding Moody as well as members from the South Georgia Regional Commission will be attending a planning roundtable Oct. 21 on base.

County, city and base planners will present information on planning initiatives in the community that affect the base populace during an information fair at the Moody Field Club on Oct. 22. All installation personnel are invited to attend the information fair; refreshments will be provided.
