During a recent soccer match, Moody took advantage of a second opportunity to play a team from Quitman, Ga., and came out on top with a victory.

The Moody AFB Soccer Team stuck to a strict game plan, pressuring the Quitman team defense with a fast-paced offensive attack despite the cold temperatures of 36 degrees with winds up to 15 mph.

"The team showed a lot of discipline, especially with the cold weather and high winds," said Timothy Fry, Moody's coach. "We came out strong from the start and were able to keep that pace during the full 90 minutes."

Moody took the lead within the first ten minutes of the half and continued their offensive onslaught throughout the game.

With an unbroken performance, the team was provided a comfortable cushion going into halftime 3-0. Moody's team work, however, did play a major factor in their victory.

"It felt good to see my teammates come together and play as a team, not allowing negative things to affect us," said Edward Huffman, Moody team member.

Despite some spotty calls by the referees, in the end the score said it all with Moody coming out on top with a final score of 4-1. The team was ecstatic about gaining the victory after having a string of ties in a couple of their previous matches.

"It feels good to come out and have a better outcome after tying the last game," said Coach Fry. "To put one in the win column is a boost of confidence for the team."

Throughout the season Moody's soccer team has improved its record from 3-4 to 6-7-2, which on paper may not look like much, but according to Coach Fry, it's a tremendous improvement.

"I can't even explain how far we have come over the course of the season," said Coach Fry. "At first we were all playing like individuals, now we're playing as a team."

Looking to expand on their talents, the team is seeking to participate in the Blizzard Blast from Jan 8-9 in Kissimmee, Fla., hoping to display their new found dominance.

"The overall talent has gotten better through all the practice and games we have played," said Coach Fry. "We are looking forward to going to the Blizzard Blast and showing what the Moody AFB Soccer Team is all about."
