Publication submissions
To publicize an event on the Moody public website, send all pertinent information to 23wg.pa2@moody.af.mil. All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication.
The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. For more information, contact the 23rd Wing Public Affairs office at 229-257-4146.

Turn N' Burn Flight Kitchen
The Turn N' Burn Flight Kitchen is now open to help military members working on the flightline have quicker access to meals. The kitchen is located in building 623, right between the Fire Department and 23rd Security Forces Squadron. Anybody who has access to the Georgia Pines Dining Facility can also eat at the Turn N' Burn Flight Kitchen.
The hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch and from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for dinner, Monday through Friday. For more information, call 229-257-3048.

Munitions Storage Area processing
The Munitions Storage Area will be unable to process any munitions transactions from March 20 to 21. During this inventory, only emergency requests will be processed. For this to happen it requires both written and approved consent. For more information, call Tech. Sgt. Zackary Orr at 229-257-3971.

Becoming an Air Force officer
There are different methods to becoming an Air Force officer, whether it's through an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, an Air Force ROTC scholarship, the Officer's Training School program or a direct commission. For more information, briefings are held bi-weekly on the second Wednesday at 9 a.m. and the fourth Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Education Center in room 102. Call 229-257-3150 for more information.

Georgia Military College registration
Georgia Military College is accepting registrations from Feb. 7 to 18. Classes available at the Moody education office include economics, English I and II, history, management, speech and algebra, literature and psychology. For a full college schedule, members must attend at the Valdosta Campus. Call 229-244-7323 for more information.

Official studio photo days changed
Effective Feb. 14, studio photos will be taken Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 3:15 p.m. For more information or to schedule an appointment, contact the 23rd Wing Public Affairs office at 229-257-4146.

AETC special duty assignment application
The Air Education and Training Command special duty briefing team recently conducted their visit. For Air Force members who may have missed the team's visit, they can still to apply for an AETC special duty. Commissary closure on President's Day
The Commissary is scheduled to be closed from Feb. 21 and 22 in observance President's Day. For more information, call 229-257-3384.

Hometown News release submissions
Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name.
Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc.
Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Incomplete forms and noncompliant photos will not be approved. For more information, contact the Public Affairs office at 229-257-3345.

BX Pharmacy pickup hours
The 23rd Medical Group refill prescription pickup site, which is located inside the Moody Base Exchange, will no longer be open on Saturdays beginning the week of Feb. 1. The change was made after careful consideration and tracking of patients who utilized the pharmacies over the last six to nine months. The site will continue to offer service Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Air Combat Command Family Days from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

HAZMART services
The HAZMART office offers services such as waste minimization, hazardous waste curbside pick-up, compliance help, fluorescent light bulb disposal, waste disposal, help in completing waste profile forms, battery disposal, surplus hazardous material disposal and answering general questions about compliance with hazardous materials.
Offices with excess or overstocked hazardous materials that are useable can arrange for their material to be removed by calling the HAZMART office.
Useable hazardous materials will be placed into a free-issue inventory and made available to all offices that have authorization or approval to have the materials at their location.
The office is located at 4393 George Street, building 934. Office hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call (229) 257-2761 or email hazmart@moody.af.mil.

Toastmasters Club
Moody's Toastmasters Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m., in room 203 located in the Education Center. During meetings, members learn ways to practice and hone skills in communication and leadership. For more information, call 229-257-4734.

The Moody Spouses Club
The Moody Spouses Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service. Monthly meetings are held at the Moody Field Club. More information, including upcoming activities, can be obtained from www.themoodyspousesclub.com.

Sports briefs

Personal trainers
There are certified personal trainers available to answer fitness-related questions. The trainers can provide personalized exercise programs to reduce body fat, increase lean muscle and obtain cardio fitness.

Nutrition Center hours
The Nutrition Center's hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
