Military Justice spotlight: Article 15s for February

The following information is a summary of nonjudicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in February. The punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case.

An airman first class from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was absent without leave for three days. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman, forfeitures of $165 pay and a reprimand.

An airman first class form the 23rd Communications Squadron misused their government travel card. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand.

An airman first class from the 23rd Component Maintenance Squadron missed a medical appointment. The airman first class received a suspended reduction to airman, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand.

An airman basic from the 347th Operations Support Squadron was wrongfully using marijuana. The airman basic received suspended forfeitures of $733 pay, suspended restriction to Moody AFB for 15 days, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.

A staff sergeant from the 71st Rescue Squadron was drinking during crew rest, took a sleep aid during crew alert and failed to wear service dress when ordered. The staff sergeant received a reduction to senior airman, suspended forfeitures of $1,162 pay per month for two months, 45 days extra duty and a reprimand.

An airman from the 824th Base Defense Squadron was drunk and disorderly on station and under the legal drinking age of 21 and also spit on and pushed a female airman. The airman received a reduction to airman basic and a reprimand.
