Publication submissions
To publicize an event on the Moody public website, send all pertinent information to 23wg.pa2@moody.af.mil. All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication. The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. Estate of Senior Airman Michael A. Hudson
Individuals with a claim for or against the estate of Senior Airman Michael A. Hudson, formerly 23rd Component Maintenance Squadron, may contact the summary courts officer 2nd Lt. Patrick R. Mills at 229-257-7943.

EIC shooting competition
The 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing and the 820th Base Defense Group are sponsoring a Team Moody U.S. Air Force Elementary Excellence-In-Competition (EIC) match for the M9 Pistol. The coveted USAF Elementary EIC badge will be awarded to the top 10 percent of competitors. The match is free to all active duty military members who have never won an EIC competition but registration is limited to the first 200 personnel signed up. All levels of ability are encouraged to participate. Competitors will be scheduled for a single two-hour block June 18, 21 and 25 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Registration is currently in progress. Intro to Cross Cultural Communication course
Air University is scheduled to offer a Intro to Cross Cultural Communication course to all enlisted members Aug. 8 to Nov. 23. The course is online and will satisfy the social science requirement for members who attended a joint technical school and did not receive credit towards their Community College of the Air Force degree. Registration for the fall 2011 session is scheduled to begin June 9 and end July 6. More information can be found at http://www.culture.af.edu/educationCourses.html.

Vacation Bible School
The Base Chapel is accepting registration for this year's Vacation Bible School. The school is scheduled to be held from June 13 to 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Base Chapel. Registration will continue until 100 students have enrolled. Registration forms must be completed and returned to Room 11 in the Base Chapel. Tennis courts closure
The tennis courts are scheduled to be closed from May 16 with a finish time to be determined. For more information contact Master Sgt. Mark Gore at 229-257-4943.

Moody Post Office not accepting credit cards
The Moody U.S. Postal Service is currently not accepting credit cards and will only accept cash or check. For more information call 229-257-4111.

ACE summer bash
The ACE council is scheduled to hold a summer bash June 4 from noon to 4 p.m. at Mission Lake. Tickets for the event are $1 and will be on sale from May 16 through the 31. Events include a water gun and water balloon fight, a DJ, playground for children, volleyball and more. Tater Tots
Tater Tots is an interactive play group for mothers, father and children from 6 weeks to 3 years old. The group will be meeting each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the aerobics center next to the Freedom II Fitness Center. The group asks that the attendees bring small toy for their child. Motorcycle safety rider coaches wanted
The 23rd Wing Safety Office is looking for 12 motorcycle riders who are interested in becoming rider coach instructors. The office will be hosting a certification class from June 7 to 17. This certification is an opportunity to teach new riders the correct way to ride. If the member is interested in becoming a rider coach, contact the Safety Office or their unit safety representative for qualifications and an application. Applications are due to the safety office no later than May 27. Call 229-257-3784 for more information.

Hometown News release submissions
Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name. Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc. Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Incomplete forms and noncompliant photos will not be approved. For more information, contact Public Affairs at 229-257-3345.

Toastmasters Club Moody's
Toastmasters Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m., in room 203 located in the Education Center. During meetings, members learn ways to practice and hone skills in communication and leadership. For more information, call 229-257-4734. T

The Moody Spouses Club
The Moody Spouses Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service. Monthly meetings are held at the Moody Field Club. More information, including upcoming activities, can be obtained from www.themoodyspousesclub.com.
