Base service station closure
In preparation for the end of the year closeout, the 23rd Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels management flight is scheduled to close down the base service station located on Tigershark lane after 12 a.m. on Sept. 30, and reopen no later than 1 a.m. on Oct. 1. Organizations must plan accordingly to ensure vehicles are all filled up prior to the closure. If there is an emergency situation like a fire, ambulance or police call and fuel is required, contact the fuels service center at 229-257-4184 for support.

Moody Exchange events
The Exchange is scheduled to host a series of sales and events on Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in honor of all active duty and retired military. The opening event will be a cake cutting followed by a speech from Col. Mark Ruse, 23rd Mission Support group commander. Other events through the day include a meeting with the manager, sidewalk sales, and main entrance giveaways. Shoppers can learn more about activities planned for the weekend of Sept. 23 by calling

Mandatory motorcycle safety brief
The 23rd Wing is scheduled to conduct a motorcycle safety briefing and ride on Sept 23. The motorcycle safety briefing will be held at Weapons Loading Standardization in Bldg 718 at 8 a.m. All Moody motorcycle riders are required to attend the briefing. Following the briefing there will be an optional motorcycle ride on Moody's runway. The uniform will be the uniform of the day. Members who will participate in the flight line ride will be required to have the proper motorcycle PPE. For more information contact Staff. Air Force Sergeants Association meeting
The Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 460 is scheduled to hold its next general membership meeting on Sept. 22 beginning at 3 p.m. at the Education Center or Bldg. 328. Newly elected chapter officers will be inducted into their positions during this session. All enlisted members are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact retired Senior Master Sgt. Georgia Military College classes
The fall semester is scheduled to begin Oct. 17 which means registration is going on now at Moody. GMC will be offering all web-enhanced classes on base this term. The following courses count towards completion of the Community College of the Air Force Degree and will be offered at Moody. Some classes include English Composition I and II, College Algebra, Sociology, World Civilization II, Personnel Management and Organization, World Literature I, and Music Appreciation. Time on station waivers
Effective immediately, members can request Time on Station waivers to permanent change of station at the two year mark to serve as a Military Training Instructor.

Awana program now recruiting
The Moody AFB Chapel is in the process of launching a local Awana program, which provides a curriculum that helps to develop spiritually strong children aged from 2 to 18.
We are currently recruiting for this program, which is scheduled to be held Wednesday evening. We are going to provide a formal training for all volunteers, new or seasoned, Awana-experienced or not. We need all positions filled by the middle of August. Moody AFB golfers' opinions sought
The Headquarters Air Force Services Agency has launched its second annual golfer survey at 71 courses worldwide. This survey gives Moody AFB golfers the chance to provide valuable feedback on the Quiet Pines Golf Course. Publication submissions
To publicize an event on the Moody public website send all pertinent information to 23wg.pa2@moody.af.mil. All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication.

Becoming an MTI
Members have the opportunity to mold tomorrow's Airmen as an MTI along with the option to return to the previous career field that member was in. These applicants can apply for a base of preference and earn an extra $450 a month as well. Senior airmen through technical sergeants wanting to advance as leaders are encouraged to apply. The members applying for this do not have to meet TOS requirements if they are on the NCORP list, 18 month TOS waivers are possible for all others.

Tater Tots
Tater Tots is an interactive play group for mothers, father and children from 6 weeks to 3 years old. The group will be meeting each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Aerobics Center next to the Freedom II Fitness Center. Attendees should bring a small toy for their child.

Hometown News release submissions
Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name.
Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc.
Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Incomplete forms and noncompliant photos will not be approved. For more information, contact the Public Affairs office at 229-257-3345.

Toastmasters Club
Moody's Toastmasters Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m., in room 203 located in the Education Center. During meetings, members learn ways to practice and hone skills in communication and leadership. For more information, call 229-257-4734.

The Moody Spouses Club
The Moody Spouses Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service. Monthly meetings are held at the Moody Field Club. More information, including upcoming activities, can be obtained from www.themoodyspousesclub.com.

Anger management prevention class
