Publication submissions
To publicize an event on the Moody public website send all pertinent information to 23wg.pa2@moody.af.mil. All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication. The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. Base service station closure
In preparation for the end of the year closeout, the 23rd Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels management flight is scheduled to close down the base service station located on Tigershark lane after 12 a.m. on Sept. 30, and reopen no later than 1 a.m. on Oct. 1. Organizations must plan accordingly to ensure vehicles are all filled up prior to the closure. If there is an emergency situation like a fire, ambulance or police call and fuel is required, contact the fuels service center at 229-257-4184 for support.

Georgia Military College classes
The fall semester is scheduled to begin Oct. 17 which means registration is going on now at Moody. GMC will be offering all web-enhanced classes on base this term. The following courses count towards completion of the Community College of the Air Force Degree and will be offered at Moody. Some classes include English Composition I and II, College Algebra, Sociology, World Civilization II, Personnel Management and Organization, World Literature I, and Music Appreciation. Moody AFB golfers' opinions sought
The Headquarters Air Force Services Agency has launched its second annual golfer survey at 71 courses worldwide. This survey gives Moody AFB golfers the chance to provide valuable feedback on the Quiet Pines Golf Course. Quarterly Wing FOD Walk
The 23rd Wing Quarterly FOD walk is scheduled for the Oct. 21. All participating personnel will meet at building 701 on the flightline side at 7 a.m. for a mass briefing. The uniform of the day will be the flight suit or ABU's. Also please be aware that we will be walking in the grass and a spare set of boots and socks is recommended. Please ensure that you are well hydrated as water will not be provided. However, plastic bottles are permitted if you would like to bring a drink. Great Expectations
Expectant parents will learn resources available on-base and off-base for assistance during the pregnancy and information on Tricare, nutrition and exercise at the next class scheduled on Oct. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the 23rd Medical Group Education & Training Room. Call Family Advocacy at 257-4805 for information or to sign up.

Couple's Communication Class
The Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program is a research and skills based program designed to help couples communicate and solve problems effectively. The next workshop will be held on Oct. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grassy Pond. Attire is casual dress. Lunch will be provided. PREP is a prevention program and is not designed for couples with serious problems. Engaged couples who attend this class can receive a Georgia marriage license for $16 rather than paying the regular fee of $51. Becoming an MTI
Members have the opportunity to mold tomorrow's Airmen as an MTI along with the option to return to the previous career field that member was in. These applicants can apply for a base of preference and earn an extra $450 a month as well. Senior airmen through technical sergeants wanting to advance as leaders are encouraged to apply.

Effective immediately, members can request Time on Station waivers to permanent change of station at the two year mark to serve as a Military Training Instructor.

Tater Tots
Tater Tots is an interactive play group for mothers, father and children from 6 weeks to 3 years old. The group will be meeting each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Aerobics Center next to the Freedom II Fitness Center. Attendees should bring a small toy for their child.

Anger management prevention class

5K Run/Walk, Information Fair and Jeans for Justice Display
Participate in a 5K to observe October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, National Autism Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Month, Suicide Prevention Week and Red Ribbon Week. The event is scheduled to be held on Oct. 7 at 7 a.m. at Freedom Fitness Center.

Hometown News release submissions
Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name.
Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc.
Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Incomplete forms and noncompliant photos will not be approved. For more information, contact the Public Affairs office at 229-257-3345.

Toastmasters Club
Moody's Toastmasters Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m., in room 203 located in the Education Center. During meetings, members learn ways to practice and hone skills in communication and leadership. For more information, call 229-257-4734.

The Moody Spouses Club
