Protestant early childhood formation coordinator wanted The Moody Chapel is currently accepting resumes for a part-time Protestant early childhood formation coordinator. Responsibilities include coordinating weekly Bible studies and activities, retreats, and other outings, recruiting volunteer teachers and workers. Contemporary worship praise team leader wanted The Moody Chapel is currently accepting resumes for a part-time Contemporary worship praise team leader. Responsibilities include leading the praise team and congregational singing during the Protestant Contemporary Worship Service, weeknight rehearsals and the ability to work with and under the guidance of the Chaplain. Parking lot closure The Deployment Control Center will be conducting cargo processing operations out of the parking lot behind the Freedom I Fitness Center from noon on Oct. 26 until 6 p.m. on Oct. 27 in support of real-world deployment operations. Please ensure all personal and government vehicles and equipment are removed from this parking lot no later than noon on Oct.16 to avoid damage. Road closure Moody is scheduled to have two road closures in the month of November. The first street is Dexter Street from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4. The closure will stretch from Bradley Circle to Woolsley Street. The second street scheduled to close is Brookley Street. Nov. 7 to 10 stretching from Dexter Street to Darque Boulevard. Moody hunter safety brief There is a makeup base hunter safety brief scheduled for Oct. 26 at 5:30 p.m. The class will be held in Bldg. 701, located on 8219 Apron A Road, in room 201, the A-10C Thunderbolt II phase hangar. In addition to the base safety brief, members must obtain a Moody Air Force Base hunting permit through MWR outdoor recreation supply and all applicable Georgia licenses. If born after Jan. 1, 1961, people must attend a Georgia hunter safety course or provide proof of attendance at another state sponsored hunter safety course. Challenges faced by dual military couples lunch and learn The military family life consultant will discuss challenges of dual military couples and how they can become even stronger as a team. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 29, there will be one local pharmacy participating in the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day initiative. This is a venue for people to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. The pharmacy is Barnes Healthcare Services, located at 200 S. Patterson St., Valdosta. Pumpkin patrol The 23rd Security Forces Squadron is scheduled to conduct OPERATION PUMPKIN PATROL on Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. In order to provide a safe environment for families and visitors in Quiet Pines housing area during trick-or-treat activities, parking for the pumpkin patrol will be located in the Airmen Leadership School parking lot and at the area located around the Haunted House. Couple's communication class The Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program is a program designed to help couples communicate and solve problems effectively. The next workshop is scheduled to be held Oct. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grassy Pond. Attire will be casual dress and lunch will be provided. PREP is a prevention program and is not designed for couples with serious problems. Engaged couples who attend this class can receive a Georgia marriage license for $16 rather than paying the regular fee of $51. The group will be meeting each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Aerobics Center next to the Freedom I Fitness Center. Attendees should bring a small toy for their child. Hometown News release submissions Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name. Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc. Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Toastmasters Club Moody's Toastmasters Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m., in room 203 in the Education Center.
