All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication. The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. Toys for tots What: The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation gives the opportunity for people to touch the lives of local families by providing toys to children that otherwise would not be so fortunate. Where: If you are interested in donating to this organization, you can do so by purchasing a new, unwrapped toy and placing it any of the donation boxes placed within units around base. There will also be a box at each entrance to the Exchange. When: The last day for donations will be Dec. 21 POC: If you are interested in making a monetary donation, please make the check payable to "TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION." You can contact Master Sgt. Moody Runners Group Who: The Moody Runners Group is looking for members from Moody and the local communities. What: Join the group to share experiences, work out tips, info on upcoming running events and to find the motivation to get moving POC: www.Facebook.com/MoodyRunners Comm. focal point closure Who: 23rd Communications Squadron comm. focal point (help desk) What: The focal point is closed every Thursday from noon to 5 p.m. POC: During this time, the help desk will only respond to issues deemed mission essential by commanders and chiefs only. DEERS office upgrade Who: The DEERS Office, which issues ID cards What: The office is projected for a hardware upgrade and only one workstation will be in operation during these days. Customer service will be able to reset CAC pins and perform other essential tasks When: The upgrade is scheduled from Nov. 8 through the 10. Protestant early childhood formation coordinator wanted What: The Moody Chapel is currently accepting resumes for a part-time Protestant early childhood formation coordinator. Responsibilities include coordinating weekly Bible studies and activities, retreats, and other outings, recruiting volunteer teachers and workers. Contemporary worship praise team leader wanted What: The Moody Chapel is currently accepting resumes for a part-time Contemporary worship praise team leader. Responsibilities include leading the praise team and congregational singing during the Protestant Contemporary Worship Service, weeknight rehearsals and the ability to work with and under the guidance of the Chaplain. Road closure What: Moody is scheduled to have a road closures in the month of November. Hometown News release submissions Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name. Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc. Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service.
