Publication submissions
To publicize an event on the Moody public website send all pertinent information to 23wg.pa2@moody.af.mil. All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication.
The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. For more information, contact the 23rd Wing Public Affairs office at 229-257-4146.

Estate Claim Senior Airman Tyler Groschick
It is with deep sorrow that the Air Force announces the death of Senior Airman Tyler Groschick, 23rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron. Anyone having a claim against the estate of Senior Airman Groschick can contact the appointed summary court officer 2nd Lt. Patrick Mills at 229-257-4518.

Moody Airmen cookie drive
Who: Moody Spouses Club
What: There is scheduled to be a cookie drive to support Airmen in the dorms.
When: Cookies can be dropped off Dec.12 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Dec. 13 from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Members can also volunteer to help sort with assembly or donate items.

What: Annual tree lighting ceremony
There will be a prize giveaway of two $1,500 Steele's Jewelry shopping sprees and 20 tickets to the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra

Contemporary worship praise team leader
What: The Moody Chapel is currently accepting resumes for a peak time Contemporary Worship Praise team leader.Responsibilities include leading the praise team and congregational singing during the Protestant Contemporary Worship Service; week-night rehearsals; ability to work with and under the guidance of the Chaplain.

Early Childhood Formation coordinator
What: The Moody Chapel is currently accepting resumes for a peak time Protestant Early Childhood Formation Coordinator.As directed by DoDI 1402, a criminal history background check must be performed. Responsibilities include coordinating weekly Bible studies, retreats, and other outings along with recruiting volunteer teachers and workers.

Combined Federal Campaign kicks off at Moody AFB Nov. 15
What: The CFC supports eligible nonprofit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
When: Nov. 15 and through Dec. 23

Vehicle Operations Operator Records & Licensing hours
The Vehicle Operations Operator Records & Licensing will not be open during any base exercise. The only acceptation to this is if an individual is out processing.

Georgia Military College Registration
Winter term registration is going on now. Moody offers Web Enhanced classes in
English Composition 1, 2 and English Lit, Speech, Management, Sociology, History and Accounting

Chow Hall
Civilians are now eligible to eat at the chow hall during dinner and on weekends.

Healthy holiday eating class
When: Dec. 1 from 12 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Place: Health and Wellness Center located inside the Freedom I Fitness Center
Come learn how to prepare your holiday favorites without packing on the pounds.

Toys for tots
What: The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation gives the opportunity for people to touch the lives of local families by providing toys to children that otherwise would not be so fortunate.
Where: If you are interested in donating to this organization, you can do so by purchasing a new, unwrapped toy and placing it any of the donation boxes placed within units around base. There will also be a box at each entrance to the Exchange.
When: The last day for donations will be Dec. 21
POC: If you are interested in making a monetary donation, please make the check payable to "TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION." You can contact Master Sgt. Jeffrey at 229-257-3971 or Master Sgt. Ronald Spradling at 229-257-3896 and they will pick it up.

Moody Runners Group
Who: The Moody Runners Group is looking for members from Moody and the local communities.
What: Join the group to share experiences, work out tips, info on upcoming running events and to find the motivation to get moving

Comm. focal point closure
Who: 23rd Communications Squadron comm. focal point (help desk)
What: The focal point is closed every Thursday from noon to 5 p.m.
POC: During this time, the help desk will only respond to issues deemed mission essential by commanders and chiefs only. The help desk can be obtained by calling the standby number: 229-563-4797.

Tater Tots
What: The Tater Tots group is an interactive playgroup for mothers, father and children from 6 weeks to 3 years old.
When: The group will be meeting each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Aerobics Center next to the Freedom I Fitness Center. Attendees should bring a small toy for their child.

Hometown News release submissions
Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name.
Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc.
Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Incomplete forms and noncompliant photos will not be approved. For more information, contact the Public Affairs office at 229-257-3345.

Toastmasters Club
Who: Moody's Toastmasters Club
What: During meetings, members learn ways to practice and hone skills in communication and leadership.
When: The Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m.
Where: Meeting are held in room 203 in the Education Center.

Who: The Moody Spouses Club
What: The Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service.
Where: Monthly meetings are held at the Moody Field Club.
