Are you ORE ready? Published Dec. 2, 2011 By Airman 1st Class Jarrod Grammel 23rd Wing Public Affairs MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- With a phase II operational readiness inspection scheduled for March 28 to April 3, it is important for all Airmen to be prepared and know all their duties during an exercise. To help prepare for the ORI, Moody is holding a phase II operational readiness exercise the week of Dec. 5. The phase II exercise and inspection test Moody's ability to operate in a deployed environment. Ken Spears, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron installation emergency manager, provides a quick list of what everyone should know for the ORE and ORI: · A good positive attitude is important. · Ensure your gear is in good working order - everything that needs it is tied, zipped or snapped. · Make sure your gas mask has been inspected and signed off. In addition to these basic guidelines it is important that everyone know their job position and duties during the ORE, as well as the mission-oriented protective postures. They should also carry their Airman's Manual at all times. The Airman's Manual can be used for a quick response during some situations. The guide below is a quick reference to some vital information. "If you show up prepared and know what to do, it makes you look professional. "The most common problem I see is a lack of a sense of urgency," he added.
