Moody's Lady Flying Tigers varsity basketball team dominated the court this weekend with a 75-66 win over Warner Robins Air Force Base.

The Lady Tiger's were unable to practice last week due to the operational readiness exercise but still came out strong the first half of the game scoring 40 of their 75 points.

"We were kind of sloppy this game," said Stacy Williams, Lady Tigers shooting guard. "Without practice it was kind of hard to work as a team. We were scrappy but we still got the win."

Moody played a strong inside game the first half, giving them an early lead with no looking back, but Robins didn't go down without a fight. They came back strong the second half scoring nearly 40 points.

"Robins is a good team; they have good coaching, and they used their assets well," said U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jamahl Jones, Lady Tigers women's basketball coach.

"Our girls did okay this game, but we can do better than that, and we will once we get back to practicing," added Jones. "Our veteran players really pulled us through."

Veteran Moody players Ashley Davis, Ashley Searcy, Altanee Manor and Williams held the team together with their hot shooting. Davis topped the points with 14.

"Moody had a lot of energy and took advantage of their time on the court," said Tech. Sgt. Juan Vasquez, 116th Air Control Wing aircraft maintenance instructor and Robin's women's basketball coach. "We just couldn't overcome the lead they had from the first half."

The team looks forward to playing them again when they come to Robins, he added.

Moody's next game is scheduled to be against Maxwell AFB, Ala., at the Maxwell Fitness Center at 2 p.m. Jan. 28.
