Publication submissions
To publicize an event on the Moody public website send all pertinent information to 23wg.pa2@moody.af.mil. All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication.
The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. For more information, contact the 23rd Wing Public Affairs office at 229-257-4146.

Turkey hunting
What: Any Team Moody members planning to hunt on base are required to attend one of the Annual Base Hunter Safety Briefs.
When: March 6, 8, 12, 14 and 16. Start time is scheduled to be at 5:30 p.m.
Where: The briefings will be held at Building 701, located on 8219 Apron A Road, in room 201. (A-10 Phase hanger).
In addition to the base safety brief, members must obtain a Moody hunting permit through Outdoor Recreation and all applicable Georgia Licenses. Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1961 must attend a Georgia Hunter Safety Course or provide proof of attendance at another state sponsored hunter safety course.

Moody blood drive
What: The Red Cross will host a blood drive at Moody Air Force Base.
When: Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Freedom I Fitness Center

Wing FOD walk
What: The quarterly wing FOD walk is scheduled for March 16 at 7:30 a.m. The uniform of the day will be ABU's, flight suit or jeans, for civilians, with closed toe shoes or boots.
Where: All required personnel are to meet at Bldg 701 on the flight line side for a mass brief and to receive supplies.

Women's self defense class
What: The next women's self defense course is scheduled to start April 16. The course consists of four classes, each three hours long.

Airmen dormitory leader needed
Who: 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron
What: The squadron has vacancies in the unaccompanied housing management office. They are seeking staff sergeants and technical sergeants' who are interested in developing their leadership, mentoring and management abilities and broaden their talents.
There is a list of applicant criteria that must be met.
When: Application packages will be accepted through January 31. Members may bring your packages to the unaccompanied housing management office in Bldg. 547.

Moody Runners Group
Who: The Moody Runners Group is looking for members from Moody and the local communities.
What: Join the group to share experiences, work out tips, info on upcoming running events and to find the motivation to get moving

Tater Tots
What: The Tater Tots group is an interactive playgroup for mothers, father and children from 6 weeks to 3 years old.
When: The group will be meeting each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Aerobics Center next to the Freedom I Fitness Center. Attendees should bring a small toy for their child.

Hometown News release submissions
Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name.
Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc.
Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Incomplete forms and noncompliant photos will not be approved. For more information, contact the Public Affairs office at 229-257-3345.

Toastmasters Club
Who: Moody's Toastmasters Club
What: During meetings, members learn ways to practice and hone skills in communication and leadership.
When: The Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m.
Where: Meeting are held in room 203 in the Education Center.

The Moody Spouses Club
Who: The Moody Spouses Club
What: The Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service.
Where: Monthly meetings are held at the Moody Field Club.
