Are you ORI ready? Published March 26, 2012 By 23d Wing Public Affairs MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The purpose of an operational readiness inspection is to demonstrate the 23d Wing's ability to execute combat missions in a hostile environment. The following list is a guide to help ensure members are prepared for the operational readiness inspection. Each member should be ready to help the wing complete its objectives, which include: · Maintain continuity of command at all levels · Safely and effectively generate and employ combat airpower · Protect, maintain, and sustain personnel and equipment from conventional, unconventional, ground and asymmetric threats · Maintain health and wellness of personnel through effective deployed medical facility operations and 100 percent accountability General information: · Understanding the accountability process is a step toward ensuring personnel are fully accounted for. Make sure to always carry the accountability card before entering and leaving Base X. · When directed, go to the designated bunker to perform evacuation accountability and ensure all those in the bunker have a card. Food sustainment operations: Meals will be accomplished at the Single Pallet Expeditionary Kitchen located at the field training exercise site. Here they will offer MREs and hot meals during meal times. Hours of operations are: · Breakfast: 7 a.m.- 9 a.m. - MREs · Lunch: 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. - Hot meal/ MREs · Dinner: 4:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. - MREs · Midnight: 11 p.m. - 12:30a.m. - Hot meal/ MREs · Prices are $2.45 for breakfast and $4.55 for lunch. Members who are on the meal card eat for free. Gear check: When preparing for the ORI, units should ensure everyone has their gear properly prepared by marking their equipment correctly and in the proper place. Follow this link: ORI phase II to a resource page where all this information can be viewed. Units should also be prepared by having a back up player for their key people in case of an emergency. Staying safe: · Avoid taking inappropriate risks · If you see an unsafe situation developing, call "knock it off" · Apply work rest cycles and fluid guidelines o Airman's Manual, Pg 216 · Keep the canteen full; Safety trucks have water o Members often suffer heat stress Do not: o Drive in MOPP gear unless trained and qualified o Stay in MOPP 4 responding to real world emergencies Reduced manning: During the ORI units will be at reduced manning, be aware and plan around this time. The following units will be affected: Freedom I Fitness Center: Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about these hours call 229-257-1621.
