Cranial Helmets It's heartbreaking for new parents to learn their baby has plagiocephly, abnormal shape of the head, or other conditions that cause a misshapen head. The condition is not only cosmetic, but it often leads to other medical issues later in life. What can cause additional concern is when parents learn that the treatment, a special cranial helmet, is not covered by insurance and the cost can be several thousand dollars. In late 2011, Air Force Aid Society CEO, Lt. Gen. John Hopper, made the decision that assistance for cranial helmets will be provided as a grant. When applying for this assistance, parents bring in the doctor's prescription for the cranial helmet and the disapproval notice from TRICARE. 23d LRS Individual Protective Equipment Hours To better assist Team Moody anyone retiring, PCSing, separating, deploying or those requiring IPE gear call 229-257-1010 and schedule an appointment for Tuesday or Thursday from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. If returning from a deployment, members are required to return all gear with in the four day in processing window without making an appointment.
