Give back through CFC Published Nov. 21, 2012 By Senior Airman Douglas Ellis 23d Wing Public Affairs MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- The 2012 Southwest Georgia Combined Federal Campaign kicked off on Oct. 12 and will run until Dec. 14. The CFC began in 1964 and is the largest workplace charity campaign in the world, reaching out to federal employees across the country and raising over $7 billion in its existence. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Team Moody hosts the CFC annually and has always been a supporter and contributor to the campaign. Last year, Moody raised $117,011. "With more members deployed this year than in 2011, we have set our goal at $112,000 for the 2012 campaign," said U.S. Air Force Capt. Wesley Arnold, 823d Base Defense Squadron Medical Cell officer in charge and Moody CFC coordinator. "As we are a little more than halfway through the campaign, we are well on our way to meeting our goal and helping those in need, both locally and nationally." There are more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
