Since the CFC began in 1964, it has raised more than $7 billion from federal employees across the country. U.S. Air Force Capt. Wesley Arnold, 823d Base Defense Squadron Medical Cell officer in charge and Moody CFC coordinator, said that 100 percent of the employees on Moody were contacted about the CFC. The Combined Federal Campaign provides the military community a central fund raising site with access to hundreds of different causes. Many of these causes would not get the visibility if it was not for the CFC. "The CFC gives the military community an opportunity to donate to causes they would normally not be aware of," he said. "The $109,890 will go toward a number of great causes and will help countless people and animals both locally and globally." The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.
