All submissions must be received by noon on Thursday the week prior to publication. The Valdosta Daily Times has assumed publication responsibility of the Moody Volunteer, so submission doesn't guarantee publication. All articles or briefs are subject to editing. HC-130J Delivery Ceremony The 23d Wing will host a delivery ceremony for the new HC-130J Combat King II aircraft on Friday, July 19, at 9 a.m. in the Fuels Barn. The ceremony is open to all Moody Air Force Base personnel and spouses. Free clothes swap What: Free clothes swap Where: Moody Air Force Base Chapel When: July 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will be accepted July 26 from 4 to 9 p.m. Team Moody is invited to donate clothing and obtain clothes others have donated. Georgia Military College Fall registration What: Fall one term registration is going on now. When: Fall one term will run Aug. 1 to Sept. 29. Register at Moody's education and training office. Sports physicals What: Sports physicals for patients enrolled at Moody AFB When: July 27 from 8 to 11 a.m. Where: Pediatric and Family Health Clinics An eye, ear and dental exam can be completed during the physical if needed. If there has been a 23d Medical Group Pediatric or Family Health Clinic well-child visit/physical/sports physical since October 2012, a sports physical form may dropped and will be transcribed within three days. Moody AFB men's baseball What: The Moody AFB Colts men's baseball team is seeking new players for the remainder of the 2013 season. We play wood bat, 9 inning, MLB rules baseball. It When: every Friday at 10 a.m. Where: the Fitness Annex. The Family Advocacy New Parent Support Program coordinator, Lynn Carlton, has coordinated with Windy Scott, Exception Family Member Program Coordinator. Ages for the playgroup will be 6 weeks to 4 years old. Moody AFB Inspector General Our purpose is to serve as a fair, impartial and objective fact-finder and problem solver. Our mission is to sustain a credible Air Force Inspector General system by ensuring a responsive Complaints Resolution Program and Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) Program in order to enhance morale, promote efficiency and emphasize mission focus. -Fraud, Waste and Abuse Program Airmen aware of any fraud, waste or abuse should report it to the 23d Wing Inspector General by calling the IG 24-hour hotline at 229-257-5698. Airmen, who report FWA violations, are protected from reprisals, and under federal law, Section 1034 of Title 10 United States Code. -Inspector General Complaint Resolution Program The Inspector General complaint program is open to all Air Force active duty, dependent, retired or civilian members to use without fear of reprisal action. The IG office would like to remind Airmen that most issues can be resolved at the unit-level. Give your supervisor, first sergeant and commander a chance to help resolve the problem first. Moody (AFB) Mommas Support Group Moody (AFB) Mommas Support Group is a support group for new, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. We are here to educate, encourage, and support all moms throughout pregnancy, with birthing options, breastfeeding challenges, and with the multitude of questions that arise when it comes to having and raising children. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name. Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc. Submissions are reviewed by 23d Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. The Moody Spouses Club Who: The Moody Spouses Club What: The Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service. Possessing weapons on base Though federal and state laws authorize many freedoms with regards to privately owned weapons (POWs), transport or possession of POWs, ammunition or other weapons on Moody Air Force Base and Grassy Pond Recreation Area is strictly limited and enforced. The possession of POWs and ammunition in work centers, common areas, dormitory living quarters and storage areas or temporary lodging facilities is prohibited. Prior to entry onto Moody Air Force Base, individuals possessing POWs must immediately advise the gate guard who will give further directions regarding base procedures and policies. Visitors and personnel residing in temporary lodging facilities or dormitories may store POWs and/or ammunition in the Security Forces Armory located at 8209 Apron A Road (Bldg 617) on a space available basis.
