Moody USPS temporarily closed

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. --

The United States Postal Service side of the Moody Air Force Base Installation Post Office is currently closed.

The temporary closure to the USPS side of the Post Office started July 1st due to the retirement of the installation postmaster.

The installation USPS is projected to be closed for a minimum of two months. During this time, customers will not be able to send personal packages and buy stamps at the Post Office on base until a replacement postmaster is hired by USPS.

The Official Military Mail Center side of the Post Office remains open. The pickup and delivery of base housing, dorms, P.O. boxes and military and official mail remain unaffected.

The closest alternative USPS sites are on Inner Perimeter Road in Valdosta and on Main Street in Ray City.
