The 23d Medical Group (MDG) reassignment of retirees and their dependents to off-base TRICARE providers will continue as planned on Aug. 17, 2018. Retiree beneficiaries who have not already selected an off-base Tricare provider will automatically be assigned to a provider within TRICARE's defined local area.

Additional guidance addressing provider-to-patient ratios, issued on Aug. 15, 2018, outlines an empanelment window of 1100-1300 patients per Primary Care Manager. With that guidance and the current number of providers available at the 23d MDG, we will continue with the reassignment as

scheduled.

"This reassignment will address provider shortages, mitigate long wait times and increase overall quality of care for all of our beneficiaries," said Col. Tiffany Morgan, 23d Medical Group commander. "We appreciate the sacrifices of our retiree population and we want to ensure they are provided with the quality care they need and deserve."

Although these beneficiaries will no longer be assigned a provider on Moody AFB, they will still have access to Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and limited diagnostic services as well as beneficiary counseling and assistance services.

"We appreciate the feedback from our retiree population and their patience throughout this process," said Col. Jennifer Short, 23d Wing commander. "As we continue to work through this together, our top priority is to ensure safe, reliable, and timely 'Trusted Care' for all of our beneficiaries."

The 23d MDG is committed to ensuring our beneficiaries' transition is as smooth as possible. If beneficiaries experience issues please contact the 23d MDG at 229-257-3322 or Humana-Military at 1-800-444-5445.
