The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosted a Bundles for Babies event, Aug. 16, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga.

Bundles for Babies is designed to teach soon-to-be and new parents basic skills, as well as financial skills, to help prepare them for the challenges that may arise when their child is born.

“Our main focus is to offer information, education and personal financial counseling,” said Gail Brown, 23d Force Support Squadron Airman and Family Readiness Center work-life specialist. “We want family members to maintain financial and personal readiness to help build a solid foundation for their child.”

Throughout the event, expectant mothers were informed of the many resources they have access to through the AFRC. Among those resources are the Child Development Center, give parents a break programs and different financial support systems offered through the AFRC.

“The biggest thing about this event is that it gives you resources that you didn’t know were out there,” said 1st Lt. Brianne Mangum, 23d Operations Support Squadron chief of targets, an expectant mother and participant in the class. “The resources we have here on Moody are above and beyond what I anticipated.”
