Chief Master Sergeant JEREMY C. SCHONEBOOM

Chief Master Sgt. Jeremy C. Schoneboom is the Command Chief of the 23rd Wing, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. The 23rd Wing is home to the legendary "Flying Tigers" and consists of five groups with 23 squadrons comprised of more than 4,000 Airmen, more than 700 civilian employees, and 61 aircraft. The wing provides A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft for close air support, forward air control and combat support for combatant commander requirements worldwide. The 23rd Wing also provides combat search and rescue, and personnel recovery capabilities through the employment of HC-130J Combat King II aircraft, HH-60W Jolly Green II aircraft, and Guardian Angel weapon systems. As command chief, Schoneboom maintains a liaison between the wing commander and those who execute the mission, primarily focusing on the enlisted force and families. He advises the commander and senior leadership on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training utilization, health, morale and welfare of the command’s personnel and takes actions to address shortfalls and challenges.

Chief Master Sgt. Schoneboom is a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and enlisted in the Air Force in 1996. He graduated from Electrical Power Production Apprentice School in November 1996. His background includes various assignments in civil engineer, air control, intelligence, aircraft maintenance, and air support operations squadrons. Throughout his career, he has filled a myriad of roles including electrical power production noncommissioned officer in charge; zonal maintenance section chief; intelligence group facility manager; commander’s support staff superintendent; first sergeant; squadron superintendent; and mission support group senior enlisted leader. He has completed eight deployments in support of operations around the world, including two in Iraq, four in Kuwait and two tours in Saudi Arabia. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the 23rd Mission Support Group senior enlisted leader supporting 1,500 civilians and military Airmen at Moody AFB, Georgia.
