Chief Master Sgt. Stephen M. Dugan is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. The Wing consists of four groups with over 2,500 Airmen at 20 locations throughout the Continental U.S. Subordinate units are the 3d Air Support Operations Group at Fort Cavazos, Texas, the 18th Air Support Operations Group at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, the 5th Combat Weather Group at Fort Liberty, and the 820th Base Defense Group at Moody AFB. The 3d and 18th ASOGs provide Tactical Air Control Party team ground-based, low-profile command and control and strike capabilities for the joint force. The 820th BDG provides rapidly deployable, fully integrated, highly specialized forces for active internal and external base defense. The 5th Combat Weather Group provides meteorological and environmental information from non-permissive, hostile, and data-denied areas in order to predict future conditions, wherever and whenever needed. The Chief’s primary responsibility is to advise the wing commander on matters influencing the readiness, training, equipping, morale, welfare, quality of life, and professional development of all assigned members of the wing. These efforts ensure the Spartans are ready to Predict, Defend, and Defeat in any theater at any time.
The Chief entered the Air Force in August 2000 and graduated from the Defensive Avionics Technician course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, in March 2001. His background includes various duties in electronic warfare at the unit and group level, along with duties in the joint environment. Additionally, throughout his career, he has filled a myriad of leadership roles, including Senior Weapons System Coordinator, First Sergeant, and Senior Enlisted Leader at both Squadron and Group levels. His assignments include bases in South Dakota, Florida, Arkansas, and California. He has also served overseas on numerous deployments in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, and INHERENT RESOLVE.
