Airmen depart for Combat Hammer

Airman 1st Class William Osborne, 23d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, replaces the protective covering on the engine of an A-10C Thunderbolt II, Oct. 31, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Pilots, traveled to Eglin AFB, Fla., to participate in exercise COMBAT HAMMER. The exercise evaluates the effectiveness, maintainability, suitability and accuracy of precision guided munitions and high technology air to ground munitions from tactical deliveries against realistic targets with realistic enemy defenses. Moody’s team will be assessed and trained on how accurately and quickly a munition is built, loaded onto the aircraft and dropped from the aircraft onto a target.
