Rechargeable Lithium and NICAD Battery Users

Starting April 1, 2017, there will be a change in the disposal cost of unusable rechargeable lithium and unusable rechargeable NICAD batteries. Currently there is NO COST for disposal of these batteries, however April 1st the disposal cost will change to $3.95 per/lb. for lithium and $0.65 per/lb for NICADs. The company that previously provided NO COST battery disposal is no longer able to provide that service.

All unusable rechargeable lithium and NICAD batteries must be turned-in to the HazMart before March 25, 2017; this will enable the HazMart to process the batteries and take advantage of the FREE battery disposal.

23 CES/CEIEC manages the disposal cost through DLA and therefore squadrons are not responsible for the disposal cost.

Batteries can be dropped off at the HazMart:

Monday-Friday, 0700 hours to 1600 hours

Building 934, 4393 George Street
