AFRC accepting packages for Spouse of the Year

The Airman & Family Readiness Center is accepting nominations for the 23d Wing 2014 Spouse of the Year Award. The award period is Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 2014. This award recognizes the significant contributions made by nonmilitary spouses of Air Force military members. The nominee's husband or wife must be serving in the Air Force and assigned to the 23d Wing (Active Duty, Guard or Reserve).

The award winner will then be submitted by Moody AFB, 23d Wing, to compete as a nomination for the 2015 Joan Orr Air Force Spouse of the Year Award. The award period is Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 31, 2014.  This Air Force Association (AFA) award recognizes the significant contributions made by nonmilitary spouses of Air Force military members. 

Send nomination package in original format electronically to the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Sandra Liotti (Sandra.Liotti@us.af.mil) and Peggy Beauvais (Peggy.Beauvais@us.af.mil) no later than Nov. 14, 2014.

Nomination Package consists of the following, which is required for each nomination:

A.  Write-up: limited to 30 lines (including headers, which must stand alone from the bullets), single-spaced, size 12 font, using only the AF Form 1206, Nomination for Award. Bullet format is mandatory. 

B.  Public Release Statement addressed to the Air Force Personnel Center Recognition Programs Section (AFPC/DPSIDR):  The nominee must sign and date this statement (attached).

C.  Biography: limited to one single-spaced typewritten page, (see AFI 36-2805, Special Trophies and Awards Attachment 2, for format). The Social Security Number as reflected in Attachment 2 is no longer required.

D. Citation: limited to no less than 50 words and no more than 70 words not including opening and closing statements. The citation should include specific examples of the act or services provided.  Refer to AFI 36-2805, Attachment 3, for format.
