17 Team Moody members make E-8

Air Force officials selected 1,282 master sergeants for promotion to senior master sergeant, and 17 Team Moody members made the cut.
The new 23rd Wing Senior Master Sergeant selects are:
- Master Sgt. Robert Anderson, 23rd Maintenance Squadron
- Master Sgt. Michael Burton, 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
- Master Sgt. Michael Claiborn, 23rd Communications Squadron
- Master Sgt. Daniel Horton, 58th Rescue Squadron
- Master Sgt. Stephen Humbert, 563rd Maintenance Squadron
- Master Sgt. Thomas Moore, 23rd AMXS
- Master Sgt. Jeffrey Noeth, 23rd AMXS
- Master Sgt. Jeffrey Parker, 23rd AMXS
- Master Sgt. Monica Potts, 23rd Mission Support Squadron
- Master Sgt. David Prince, 23rd MXS
- Master Sgt. Jay Shankles, 71st Rescue Squadron
- Master Sgt. James Sliger, 563rd MXS
- Master Sgt. David Smith, 23rd MXS
- Master Sgt. Gary Smith, 23rd Communications Squadron
- Master Sgt. Rebecca Tilton, 23rd Wing
- Master Sgt. Alan Tompkins, 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron
- Master Sgt. Ricky Vendrell, 23rd AMXS
The promotion list was released publicly at 9 a.m. CDT March 14, and the complete list is available on the Air Force Personnel Center web site.
The board, which convened here Feb. 5 to 23, considered 14,626 master sergeants, for an 8.77 percent select rate. Last year's selection rate was 8.63 percent.
The average score for those selected was 663.89, with an average time in grade and time in service of 4.50 and 20.53 years respectively. The average score was based on the following point averages:
-- 134.99 for enlisted performance reports;
-- 32.88 for time in grade;
-- 21.52 for time in service;
-- 21.12 for decorations;
-- 65.42 for Air Force supervisory examination;
-- 387.97 for board score.
Score notices are now available on the virtual military personnel flight, or vMPF. Those selected will be promoted to E-8 beginning in April.
