Moody member dies in off-base accident Published Sept. 4, 2007 By 23rd Wing Public Affairs MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- An active duty military member from Moody Air Force Base, Ga., died Monday as a result of injuries from a vehicle accident in Orlando, Fla. Staff Sgt. Charles Long, 824th Security Forces Squadron military working dog handler, died as a result of injuries from a single-vehicle motorcycle accident that occurred Sunday in the Orlando area. "Sergeant Long was a valuable member of Team Moody, and he will sorely be missed," said Col. Kenneth Todorov, 23rd Wing commander. "The Air Force is a close-knit family, and the loss of one of our own affects all of us. Our sympathy goes out to Sergeant Long's family and friends as they cope with their sorrow as a result of this tragedy." The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
