Military Justice Spotlight: Article 15s for February

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. --  The following information is a summary of nonjudicial punishments given by commanders under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice in February. The punishments are determined based on the individual facts and circumstances of each case.

- An airman 1st class from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron committed assault, consummated by a battery. The airman 1st class received a reduction to airman, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand. The reduction was suspended.

- A technical sergeant from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron was willfully derelict in the performance of their duties. The technical sergeant received a reprimand.

- A senior airman from the 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron failed to go to their appointed place of duty. The senior airman received a reduction to airman 1st class, 45 days extra duty and a reprimand.

- A staff sergeant from the 23rd Civil Engineer Squadron failed to obey a lawful general regulation by misusing their government travel card and failed to pay the debt. The staff sergeant received a reduction to senior airman, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand. The reduction was suspended.

- An airman 1st class from the 23rd Component Maintenance Squadron overindulged in intoxicating liquor or drugs and was incapacitated for the proper performance of their duties. The airman 1st class received a reduction to airman, 30 days extra duty and a reprimand.

- A staff sergeant from the 23rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron was willfully derelict in the performance of their duties. The staff sergeant received a reduction to senior airman and a reprimand. The reduction was suspended.

- A senior airman from the 822nd Security Forces Squadron failed to obey a lawful general regulation by misusing their government travel card. The senior airman received forfeitures of $250 pay per month for two months and a reprimand.

- An airman 1st class from the 824th Security Forces Squadron wrongfully used marijuana. The airman 1st class received a reduction to airman and a reprimand.

- A senior airman from the 824th Security Forces Squadron wrongfully used marijuana. The senior airman received a reduction to airman 1st class and a reprimand.
