Air Force Sergeants Association meeting The Air Force Sergeants Association chapter 460 is scheduled to hold its next general membership meeting June 22 beginning at 3 p.m. at the Moody Field Club Enlisted Lounge. Chapter officer elections are scheduled during this session. Members are encouraged to attend and volunteer to assist the chapter with its programs supporting the base community during the forthcoming year. For more information, call retired Senior Master Sgt. American Red Cross services The American Red Cross is scheduled to give military families easier access to emergency communication services through the use of one telephone number. This is scheduled to begin June 13 at 8 a.m. All military members and their families can use 1-877-272-7337 to contact the American Red Cross to initiate an emergency communication message. A call to this number allows Red Cross emergency communications services to put military personnel in touch with their families following the death or serious illness of an immediate family member, the birth of a service member's child or grandchild or when a family faces other emergencies. Additional Red Cross services such as case management and emergency financial assistance referrals also are available. Estate of Senior Airman Michael A. Hudson Individuals with a claim for or against the estate of Senior Airman Michael A. Hudson, formerly 23rd Component Maintenance Squadron, may contact the summary courts officer 2nd Lt. Patrick R. Gregory Lowe, 23rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Thrift shop hour change The Moody Thrift Shop hours are as scheduled: Tuesday's and Thursday's 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., consignments will be taken on both days from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. These hours will extend through August and will resume regular hours on August 9. Annual consumer report on the quality of tap water The 23rd Aerospace Medicine Squadron has released an annual report on the quality of water delivered by Moody. Under the "Consumer Confidence Reporting Rule" of the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, community water systems are required to report this water quality information to the consuming public. This report presents information on the source of the water, its constituents and the health risks associated with any contaminants. In order to ensure the tap water is safe to drink, the Environmental Protection Agency prescribes regulations which limit the amount of certain contaminants in water provided by public water systems. Food and Drug Administration regulations establish limits for contaminants in bottled water, which must provide the same protection for public health. The 23rd AMDS continually monitors the drinking water for contaminants. The water meets all drinking water requirements and is safe to drink. Moody Post Office not accepting credit cards The Moody U.S. Postal Service is currently not accepting credit cards and will only accept cash or check. For more information call 229-257-4111. Tater Tots Tater Tots is an interactive play group for mothers, father and children from 6 weeks to 3 years old. The group will be meeting each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon in the aerobics center next to the Freedom II Fitness Center. The group asks that the attendees bring small toy for their child. Hometown News release submissions Airmen can submit a DD Form 2266, Hometown News Release, electronically by clicking on the link via either the internal base website or the public website, www.moody.af.mil. Submissions can include a photo: minimum output 150 dpi, image size 4x5 to 5x7, JPEG format - compressed no lower than 60 percent, and saved as the submitter's last name. Appropriate newsworthy events for submission include promotions, graduations, new assignments, awards, decorations, reenlistment, retirement, etc. Submissions are reviewed by 23rd Wing Public Affairs before forwarding to the Army and Air Force Hometown News Service. Toastmasters Club Moody's Toastmasters Club is scheduled to hold meetings Thursdays at 11 a.m., in room 203 located in the Education Center. The Moody Spouses Club The Moody Spouses Club is open to active duty, retired, Reserve, enlisted and officer spouses of any military rank and branch of service.
