Chief Master Sergeant Daniel C. Simpson is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. The wing supports eight out of the ten U.S. Army Divisions and consists of three groups with more than 2,800 Airmen at twenty locations throughout the continental United States. Subordinate units are the 3d Air Support Operations Group at Fort Hood, TX, the 18th Air Support Operations Group at Fort Bragg, NC and the 820th Base Defense Group at Moody AFB, GA. The ASOGs provide Air, Space and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance expertise to plan, coordinate and execute the supported ground commander’s scheme of maneuver. The ASOGs also provide all Battlefield Weather support to Army units both in garrison and at deployed locations. The 820 BDG provides rapidly deployable, fully integrated, highly specialized forces for active internal and external base defense. His primary duties are to advise the commander on matters influencing the readiness, training, morale, welfare, quality of life, and professional development of all assigned members of the organization.

Chief Simpson grew up in St. Charles, MO and entered the Air Force in 1992 as a Security Policeman. In 1997, he retrained into the Civil Engineer Readiness (Emergency Management) career field where he held positions as Contingency Skills Instructor, Operations NCOIC, Flight NCOIC, Operational Test Project Manager, Superintendent, and Command IG Inspector. He has supported and deployed in Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, ACTIVE FENCE, and INHERENT RESOLVE.

Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the Superintendent, Air Force Basic Military Training and Airman’s Week, 737th Training Group, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX.
