Vice commander performs final flight
Col. Mark Barrera, 23d Wing vice commander, taxis through a water arch after performing his fini flight from Moody Air Force Base, Ga. May 15, 2017. Upon completion of their final flights, military aviators are hosed down with water by their comrades, family, and friends before they depart their squadron. Barrera will continue his Air Force career by attending the Joint Military Attaché School to become an Air Attaché in Italy. During this tenure, he will act as an embassy liaison with host-nation defense establishments, openly observe and report developments and significant events, and actively participate in national security and operational policy development and coordination.
