This tree is one of approximately 8,300 nationally registered live oaks across 14 states, known for its prestigious tradition, location and size. Greene, Moody Support Committee executive director, reached out to community leaders about getting the tree recognized, which was accepted for its significance of pre-dating Moody AFB and being symbolic of the communities’ bond.
