MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- J.C. Griffin, 23rd Wing Safety Office wildlife biologist and U.S. Department of Agriculture employee, performs duties for the Bird Avoidance Strike Hazard program here Feb. 2. The purpose of the BASH program is to reduce strikes between aircraft and various wildlife species, primarily birds. At Moody, there were 117 strikes which caused approximately $165,000 in damage.
