Staff Sgt. Mark McHan, 38th Rescue Squadron pararescueman, receives the Bronze Star Medal with Valor from Brig. Gen. Eugene Haase, Headquarters Special Operations Command director of force structure, requirements, resources and strategic assessments, during the Rescue Ball at Moody Air Force Base, Ga., April 15. Sergeant McHan received this medal for his heroic actions while performing an urgent medical evacuation when his team came under enemy fire during a deployment to Afghanistan on July 29, 2009.
