Swimming safety
Drowning is the second-leading cause of injury-related deaths for children 1 to 14 years old, and 19 percent of drowning deaths involving children occur in public pools with certified lifeguards present. Compared to a motor vehicle, a swimming pool is 14 times more likely to be involved in the death of a child age 4 and under. During the Critical Days of Summer, stay safe and never swim alone.
