Heroism
U.S. Air Force Capt. Thaddeus Ronnau, 41st Rescue Squadron HH-60G Pave Hawk pilot, received the Distinguished Flying Cross with Valor for flying eight nonstop casualty evacuation missions in support of coalition operations in Afghanistan June 27, 2010. He is responsible for saving 13 U.S. and coalition forces while receiving small arms fire. Ronnau knew at the age of 6 he wanted to be a pilot and said he is happy to be living his childhood dream.
