A Moody tenant unit responsible for recruiting America's best and brightest into the Air Force recently earned high ratings during a unit compliance inspection receiving an overall outstanding rating.

The 336th Recruiting Squadron, which is ranked number one of 24 in the nation, was evaluated by the Air Education and Training Command UCI team. The team inspected all of the squadron's plans and programs associated with the Air Force Recruiting Service.

"We were very ecstatic when we received the great news," said Capt. Christopher Masters, 336th RCS Support Flight Commander. "It goes to show our hard work and dedication has paid off. I was extremely impressed with everyone's performance during the inspection."

The 336th RCS serves eight million people around Georgia, southern South Carolina and northern Florida. The squadron has one headquarters building, 47 recruiting offices and more than 80 vehicles operating in those regions.

"I am extremely proud of the men and women of the 336th Recruiting Squadron," said Lt. Col. Dennis Tucker, 336th RCS commander. "This outstanding rating is a direct reflection on exceptional mission accomplishment and is a result of consistent hard work, the sharing of best practices among our seven flights, the embodiment of Air Force core values and their devotion to teamwork."

During the weeklong event, the inspection team visited several recruiting offices and the main headquarters, which is located at Moody. They reviewed comprehensive unit documentation and assigned scores based on their assessments.

"The inspection included everything from the support, operations and training flights to recruiting office visits," said Master Sgt. David Deyarmin, 336th RCS operations flight chief. "They also interviewed supervisors and reviewed our commander's programs."

The squadron prepared several months prior to the UCI team's arrival.

"We conducted numerous self-inspections and they were the keys to our success," said Leila Brown, 336th RCS Recruiter Support Assistant. "We looked for different processes to improve, checked for all the required documentation and held training sessions."

In addition to the overall rating, four field recruiting flights received an outstanding, which is a first for the squadron.
"This is truly an amazing accomplishment," said Colonel Tucker. "Four recruiting flights got the top rating possible, which is a rare feat in the Air Force recruiting business. It's a true testimony to the quality recruiters we have out in the field."

Outstanding performers included Master Sgt. Arnold Goins at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Jacksonville, Fla., Staff Sgt. Cedric Morris, Jacksonville enlisted accessions recruiter, Tech. Sgt. Tiffany Brown, 336th RCS personnel NCO in-charge, and Leila Brown.

"I'm truly honored because I was just doing my daily work helping the squadron be mission-capable," said Mrs. Brown. "It is the best feeling to know that all of your hard work pays off and people can rely on you to do your job."

In addition to the headquarters operations at Moody, the 336th RCS staff also ensures that more than 60 recruiters in their area of responsibility are equipped with the tools they need to be successful. The staff provides production support, marketing plans, and computer, personnel, facility, and vehicle support on a regular basis to the field.

"Our 336th RCS recruiters are a big part of the communities they live and work in," said Colonel Tucker. "They are ambassadors to the community, building relationships with town leadership and schools while encouraging, assisting and motivating quality young men and woman to join the most respected air, space and cyberspace team in the world.

"A 336th RCS recruiter is ready to answer questions on all aspects of the Air Force and can tell of the opportunities the Air Force has to offer such as special tactics, mechanical, medical and electronic career fields," he added.

"Our squadron received the highest rating possible on the UCI and I couldn't be more proud of the team," said Colonel Tucker. "These UCI results verify that we are effectively supporting the Air Force Recruiting Service mission which is to 'recruit quality men and women with the right skills, at the right time, in the right numbers, to sustain the combat capability of the Air Force'."
