23d maintenance Group

 

The 23d Maintenance Group is responsible for the operation and quality of organization and intermediate-level maintenance and repair supporting a combat-ready HC-130, HH-60 and A-10 wing. The group oversees the 23d Wing's maintenance training program and ensures the work force qualification and capability for worldwide development of personnel and cargo. The maintenance group also supports the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing.

There are seven squadrons aligned under the 23d MXG to support the groups mission:

23d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
The 23d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is responsible for the planning, scheduling and direction of preventive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while performing inspections, servicing and launch and recovery actions to maintain mission-ready status of A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. Aircraft Maintenance Squadron personnel also rapidly generate, mobilize, deploy and employ forces to provide combat and peacetime search and rescue operations in support of U.S. national security interests. 

   23d Component Maintenance Squadron

The 23d Component Maintenance Squadron consists of two flights: accessories and propulsion. The squadron safely provides precise and trusted on and off aircraft and equipment maintenance for Moody's A-10, C-130 and HH-60G helicopters. Maintenance disciplines include electrical and environmental, egress, fuels, hydraulic and Propulsion.

    23d Equipment Maintenance Squadron

The 23d Maintenance Squadron is comprised of five diverse flights, providing support for the A-10, HH-60, and HC-130 aircraft. These flights are: Aerospace Ground Equipment, Armament, Fabrication, Maintenance, and Munitions. Their current mission is to ensure our combat readiness to deploy aircraft, equipment, and personnel to support all aircraft assigned to Moody AFB as well as being responsive for the 23d Wing's aircraft crash recovery maintenance operations.

23d Maintenance Operations Flight
The 23d Maintenance Operations Flight manages the wing flying hour program and provides planning and execution of the flying schedule and maintenance utilization for A-10, HC-130, and HH-60 aircraft. Maintenance Operations Flight personnel also oversee the management of the wing's TF-34, T-56, and T-700 engines; are responsible for all group staff-related programs and provide maintenance-related training for maintenance Group personnel and trend analysis for 23d commanders.

563d Maintenance Squadron
The 563d Maintenance Squadron maintains, services and inspects HH-60G Pave Hawk and HC-130P/E Hercules aircraft. It also plans, schedules and directs both scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance to maintain mission-ready status. The squadron performs all launch and recovery operations. It rapidly generates, mobilizes, deploys and employs forces to provide combat and peacetime search and rescue operations in support of U.S. national security interests.

   723d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron

The 723d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is responsible for the planning, scheduling and direction of preventive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance while performing inspections, servicing and launch and recovery actions to maintain mission-ready status of HH-60G Pave Hawk and HC-130P/E Hercules aircraft. Aircraft Maintenance Squadron personnel also rapidly generate, mobilize, deploy and employ forces to provide combat and peacetime search and rescue operations in support of U.S. national security interests.

763d Maintenance Squadron
The 763d Maintenance Squadron maintains, services, and inspects HH-60G Pave Hawk aircraft. The squadron plans, schedules and directs both scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance to maintain mission-ready status. The squadron also rapidly mobilizes and deploys forces to provide combat and peacetime search and rescue operations in support of U.S. national security interests and provides logistical support for the USAF Weapons School and Det. 1 of the 18th Flight Test Squadron.
