Chief Master Sergeant Goetz is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing, Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The wing supports eight out of the 10 U.S. Army Divisions and consists of three groups with more than 2,800 battlefield Airmen at 20 locations throughout the continental U.S. Subordinate units are the 3d Air Support Operations Group at Fort Hood, Texas, the 18th Air Support Operations Group at Fort Bragg, N.C. and the 820th Base Defense Group at Moody AFB, Ga. The ASOGs provide Air, Space and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance expertise to plan, coordinate and execute the supported ground commander's scheme of maneuver. The ASOGs also provide all Battlefield Weather support to Army units both in garrison and at deployed locations. The 820th BDG provides rapidly deployable, fully integrated, highly specialized forces for active internal and external base defense. His primary duties are to advise the commander on matters influencing the readiness, training, morale, welfare, quality of life, and professional development of all assigned enlisted members. He performs these duties with the help of a team of professionals to include but not limited to: first-line supervisors, senior NCOs, first sergeants, and company grade officers.

Chief Goetz grew up in West Seneca, N.Y. and entered the Air Force in 1985. His background includes numerous leadership roles at the squadron, group and headquarters levels. He has been stationed at locations in Japan, the Philippines, Fla., Hawaii, Virginia and deployments in support of various operations in Cuba, Iraq and Afghanistan. Before assuming his current position, Chief Goetz served as the superintendent, 647th Force Support Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
