During a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear exercise, Airmen from the 41st Rescue Squadron and 41st Helicopter Maintenance Unit were geared up in mission-oriented protective posture (MOPP) gear to simulate potential conditions they could face while deployed in austere environments, March 28, 2017, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The Moody Comics & Anime Club held Cub Con, a multi-genre entertainment convention, March 17, 2018, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The convention included a costume contest, zombie demonstration, live painting seminar, and kids face painting. It was held to spread awareness of the library’s new weekend hours as well as get people excited for Tiger Con, scheduled for April 14-15. Cub Con and Tiger Con are an effort by the Comics & Anime Club to bolster a community of pop culture enthusiasts within the Moody and Valdosta area.

The 23d Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) is currently managing the construction of the new Guardian Angel facilities, which is slated to begin, March 30, here. Guardian Angel includes personnel recovery specialists whose mission involves training Department of Defense members and conducting rescue-based operations. The base is improving their capabilities by building them new facilities to group the rescue assets closer together, so as to help better prepare for the future of their mission of saving lives.
