FARP tryouts test POL Airmen

Airman 1st Class Demari Carr, 23d Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) fuels distribution operator, catches his breath following the Forward Area Refueling Point (FARP) tryouts, June 21, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Eleven Airmen from the 23d LRS Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants flight were judged and evaluated on their ability to carry various fueling equipment to and from checkpoints as quickly as possible. The FARP team’s mission requires for them to carry heavy fueling equipment to and from aircraft in a quick manner, so the tryouts were designed to gauge Airmen’s physical readiness to complete their mission. Following the tryouts the Airmen were interviewed to further evaluate their mental readiness to join the FARP team and ultimately one Airman will be chosen.
